Binkie has shot and shared all the great bird pictures that appear on our map of Saint-Martin / Sint Maarten (and also revised its text in Dutch) ! He considers the island his true home and has been captivated by its nature ever since arriving there in 1985.

As an experienced full-time birding guide, active since 2013, Binkie can identify most birds by sight and sound. His private tours covering both the Dutch and French sides of the island can be scheduled for one or more full days and are given in English, Dutch, French, and Spanish. Thanks to the island’s layout, the birding tours also become an opportunity for visitors to experience its unique history and culture. Boat trips to tour neighboring islands can also be arranged.

Besides operating birding tours, Binkie also runs Cornell’s BirdSleuth program in St. Martin and previously worked with Environment Protection in the Caribbean (EPIC).
